Week 17 Wrap-Up

This was our first week back to school and it has went wonderful. I really didn't expect any real problems because the kids had begged to start school back days before we started. This makes a momma's heart proud! So everyone knows how I like my Fridays!! Tonight we are having a get together with our neighbors, not only are they wonderful neighbors but they are wonderful friends and our children are great friends. So tonight we are having a pizza party and just visiting. Saturday if nothing gets canceled due to the 9 inches of snow we are suppose to get we will have a basketball game for Kyle and Church Sunday. Hopefully all this gets done! Also on a personal note please pray for my mother, took her to the Dr yesterday and she has pneumonia, ear infection and sinus infection. Pray God heals her soon!

weekly wrap-up

Kyle ~  He is loving our Read A Loud, I think its going to be one of his favorites! He has struggled this week with his nouns, proper, common and verbs. So we will probably still be touching base on them next week. However I think I found out why he is having this problem, he isn't reading the sentence as a whole, he is just skimming and looking at the individual words and saying well that's a verb, this is a noun. So he is going to have to train himself to read the entire sentence first, then go mark. Math has been great for him this week, AAS he has done wonderful, he is speeding up at this! Mystery of History this week has worked great the new way, with him only doing it himself. He hasn't had any trouble at all!!!! I'm very proud of him about this!

Lexi ~ She has done fantastic at AAS this week we managed to get 2 extra lessons in because she caught on to the other concepts so fast. So she is on lesson 11. MUS has treated her kindly this week, she hasn't made nearly the errors this week as in following weeks, I am very proud of her for doing such an improvement. She is loving learning about sentences. This is something by my surprise that has came hard to her, she is so language friendly and mathematically challenged, it was shocking to me that she has trouble with this, just simple sentences, however I think I have finally figured out why. She has so much to say and she can't write it down fast enough. So this week in her writing prompts for her stories, I let her tell me her stories and I write them for her and then her just copy it and the words I thought she would get wrong I ask her to spell for me. Worked really good!

Zac ~ Zac's birthday was this week, he turned 6. I think he has done great too this week, he always does great in math. AAS he is learning those sounds and I also gave him his first worksheet about first sounds in a word and he has done wonderful on it! I'm happy to see this! He also is up to 22 ABC's recognized!!! WOOHOO yelling from the roof top!!! Zac is very bright and I think he knows it that's why he takes his own sweet time showing it!

I love my babies and I am very proud of them! We also done a mini study on our 5 senses, it went good, the kids made a mini book and we played a game using your senses.
