Recommended Ages - 12 and Up

The latest book I've been reading was provided by The Schoolhouse Crew it's the latest review item from Apologia. The book I was given was Journeys of Faithfulness by Sarah Clarkson. This book is stories of life and faith of young Christian women. This is the first review I've done with the Schoolhouse Crew that wasn't for my children! This review was solely for me. I was going to read it to my daughter however once getting it and looking through it I just thought it would be a little too much for her at the awesome age of 9. I choose to simply read it to myself until I'm sure she can fully understand and take something from the book. My age is 29 and what insight this book helped provide me!

The book is a softcover book and is 232 pages long. The book is divided into Four Parts; each part consists of three chapters.

Part One: Mary & Martha
Part Two: Mary, Mother of Jesus
Part Three: Esther
Part Four: Ruth

Each chapter is followed by a devotional that kind of gives a living lesson from Sarah. You get to see her heart as well as some of her own life lessons. The devotional is followed by a Bible study page. It normally consists of several bible verses to dig deeper into. It helps you to apply the topic within the chapter to the Bible and then hopefully in your heart and life. The Bible study is followed by a journey journal. This is blank pages for you to write thoughts and things you learned, or at least that is how I used them!

I am still enjoying this book. I have completed three of the parts. I only have a little left. I personally think I will re-read it again once I am finished. I've highlighted away in it. It will glow in the dark! LOL - I have had so much emotion reading this book. I've laughed, sat in silence thinking about the experiences they had, my eyes cried and my heart grew. I've learned much about the heart of these women. I love the way that it takes you through the journey of their hearts and faith. I have learned so much that I must watch and be aware of in myself that these awesomely faithful women of the bible had to watch and work at too! To see what they had to face and what their hearts and minds thought of Our Lord, The Rulers and rules they had to follow, it was great!

This book is so inspiring on not giving up and making sure you're keeping the faith. This book will go down as one of the best I've read on Faith. I think my personal favorite about this book is it helps you see into the women that I have always been kind of clueless about. They were talked about inside the Bible but unless you really studied into their life's you would never know some of the struggles and stories that Sarah brings to your heart from them. She is an awesome story teller!!
