Here's Lily Book Review

This is a wonderful book for your budding reader!! If you have a girl that enjoys reading you don't have to worry about the content that is within this book. I was able to choose to review this and one reason I was drawn to the book was because Lily looks a lot like my Lexi, tall, fair skinned and long curly orange/red hair.

Here's Lily is Biblical based. This is of course a fiction story that helps young girls understand and address social issues that at their age may happen to them.

If you have a nearing tween this might be of interest in your household. One of my favorite things about Lily is that it's full of humor and character traits. This sweet tween girl is trying her best to find herself but she is in unfamiliar land. After receiving a compliment about her looks from a woman in the modeling business, Lily becomes obsessed with her appearance and with becoming a model. As she sets her sights on winning the model search fashion show, she exchanges her rock and feather collection for lip gloss, fashion magazines, and a private “club” with her closest friends. But when the unthinkable happens the night before the fashion show, Lily learns a valuable lesson about real beauty.

I love how encouraging her parents are and how they are trying to help her learn what God wants from her. Teaching her to have a relationship with God and rely on him instead of herself. This is something I am trying to teach my daughter as well, to have a relationship with God!

The reading was very easy for my daughter that is 9. She was able to read aloud to me during our quite time together without much help at all. We would read this aloud and then talk about it and if it related to her in any way we would talk about that too. She didn't know that I was trying to help her throughout the reading of this book but I was... That's the secret talent of a momma.

This is the first in the series of Here's Lily. I can't wait to buy Lexi some more of these for her collection.

Disclaimer: I received this book free in exchange for my review.
