Line Art Project ~ Easy & Fun

This project was one I found on Pinterest!

I've been searching for simple projects to do with the kids at least once a week. Last week we had a ton of fun with our Circle Art Project and this week wasn't any different.

Line Art

The supplies are some you probably always have on hand, at least I know I have a large supply and knew that I needed to use some of it up for something fun.

See you have those supplies, Don't you?

The construction paper is the only thing you have to prepare for this, just take some colors and make different sizes of lines. Easy and it didn't take me over 3 minutes.

Onto making your art piece; Just pick colors of the construction paper and glue one end down and either twist or curl and glue the other end somewhere else! My guys had a lot of fun making "roller coasters!" That's what they called this.

Zachary had fun gluing several of the longer lines once on the ends and then in the middle like a mountain he said.

Kyle didn't understand why this was art and so we talked about how different techniques are applied and that honestly anything was art.

Once complete you have a neat looking art project that is unique in design and just yours!

Weekly Wrap Up 3

I can't believe we have already been doing school for 3 weeks. Last week was such a nutty week it honestly didn't feel much like a school week however this week has been loaded with fun and learning.

Our history this week has been fun, I can't brag enough about Mystery of History! The kids love it and I enjoy the extra activities that go along with our lessons.

One lesson this week was about the Ice Age and that explains the ice cube on their belly! It was a contest to see who could survive the Ice Age longest! It was so funny - They screamed like girls and had a ton of fun but NO ONE would give up and after almost 10 minutes I called a truce!

The other lesson that was awesome this week was about Dinosaurs. As many of you know Zachary my smallest loves everything Dinosaur which is why you see so many resources that I could add to this lesson. After we read and discussed our lesson I had the kids (Mattie was here that day and loved this) sort and find the Dinosaurs that matched the flash cards. Now some of the Dinosaurs we didn't have in toy form but a lot of them we actually did. This was a lot of fun and my kids enjoyed the Mystery of History lessons this week!

Kyle had a little trouble with his math this week but after daddy helped him he was ready to go. We had a lot of fun with his Growing With Grammar this week because we started adding in adjectives to his sentence diagramming.

Here he is working on his All About Spelling on the sounds of /e/ and /ea/.

Zachary had a very busy and productive week as well. He finally has all his phonograms correct and he was able to move on to All About Spelling Level 1 Step 2!!! Happy Happy!

Alexis done a lot too - Seriously this week was wonderful. Her new favorite is Mystery of History. She finished up All About Spelling Level 3 last week and so we moved right on into Level 4 and she is doing wonderful. We are doing spelling 3 times a week. She has been practicing piano a lot this week. I asked them to please try to practice at least 20 minutes daily and she sure has. She has actually even moved this in her room several times and played longer. Last but not least look at her beautiful scarf she finished this week. It's navy blue and she done wonderful. This was our first one and it was easy for her. She is actually finishing a cute tye dye mini toboggan right now for her dolls.

We really got a lot accomplished this week and of course this isn't all we completed but this is my highlights!
All history topics are really working out I am kind of sad to think about all the fun we are having coming to an end in February to change over to science! We have a read aloud that is a review item that we are loving! My daughter loves George Washington so this was a great review for us - Look for the review soon!

Pre K Weekly Wrap 2 & 3

Mattie is really enjoying her time with us every week. She has done really good and the last few times I can see where I can start working with her more in certain areas.

Here she is just being silly before we get started for the morning. Zac, Lexi and her were playing rodeo!

We have still been using our "Pond" study and we wrapped that up yesterday. October will have a new theme.

This unit has had sounds, numbers, counting, tracing and much more.

Here she is sorting sizes of fish into groups.

She loves playing with my pattern blocks. After she finishes the picture she is working on we always go over each shape.

Confessions of a Homeschoolers writing practice for numbers has been great for her.

Here was last weeks art project and she really loved it. You can read about the directions here.

Time to play outside! Yes that's school too!

She sat in with us on our Mystery of History lesson this week about Dinosaurs. While I read and talked to the kids she had a Dinosaur coloring sheet and then we went to identify some for ourselves.

Onto figuring out some sounds. She does good with this and then tracing.

Zachary had a break and played Memory with her.

Then onto our art project this week which I will be posting directions for soon.

Hope your week with your Preschoolers have been awesome!

Purex Ultra Packs { Review & Giveaway }

I had the awesome opportunity to review a package of Purex Ultra Packs Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus Oxi.

Having 3 kids you can imagine how much laundry my washing machine washes - A LOT just in case there was any confusion!

Purex is a brand that has been around a long time and personally is one that I use because I know the quality meets the budget that I am on. However I do normally have to have a "stain remover" because of my boys playing football or Lexi crawling around on the ground playing horses but I would like to take a moment and brag on this review item. I decided since these Ultra Packs have Oxi - Zout stain remover in side the packs not to use my own "stain remover" and guess what?

The stains still came out!! Alexis has a pink pair of capri's that she was playing in outside while playing and got stains on her knees, I was actually a little worried about not placing "stain remover" on it because I didn't want to rein them - Well much to my surprise her capri's aren't ruined!!

These packs save time and are awesome - Just toss the pre-measured package into the washer and add your clothes. Saves busy momma's time and money! Over a period of a year your family could save $45 a year.

The UltraPacks plus Oxi formula is powerful, it works to fight over 101 of your tough stains. The concentrated Dirt Lift action has 2x's the cleaning power in every drop, leaving clothes brighter and clean.

The pre-measured packs have one load of concentrated liquid detergent in each one and dissolves quickly once you add them to your laundry. Just toss it and go!

I would like to remind you that you need to use caution when handling single load detergents, dangerous if swallowed and can irritate your eyes if it comes into contact. Be sure to keep products in the original container and keep out of reach of children.

On to the fun part for you - The Giveaway!

One of you is going to win a coupon for your very own free package of Purex Ultra Packs!
