It was snowing and lets just say I was ready for spring and so I looked online for some art projects to do that was easy and my kids would enjoy (and showed Spring haha).
I found lots of neat things we are going to be doing for the next few weeks and I wanted to share them with you guys so maybe you could do them too!
I came across some great art ideas to introduce Van Gogh's techniques and pictures/paintings to my kids. His famous Sunflowers painting was immediately a eye catcher for me, we grow sunflowers every year because my daughter loves them.
I got several books from our library and we talked about Van Gogh's life and paintings and also read Katie's Sunflowers which my smallers enjoyed ( I got that suggestion from Candace @ My Mercy Is New)
For the project we only needed pencils, sharpies and oil pastels.
First we took a pencil and drew our outline of the tulips I had in a vase, next we used a sharpie to go over the pencil. Now the fun part - Oil Pastels! My kids love getting to use anything different than crayons!
This art project was simple and my children really enjoyed the project and felt accomplished when finished!
