Weekly Wrap Up 40

Glad to have another week down!

We finally had a little more routine to our week since we had no more trips or places to go! I like routine and I kind of crave it but I will admit I have loved my trips lately too.

Monday was a holiday and we needed a break since we had the conference trip last week. We just relaxed, sleep in and played until I had to work that evening.

The rest of the week we worked our way through some of our school work. Many of our items are completed, Kyle is actually the only one that still has items to complete for his normal school work.

Kyle only has 1 more lesson to complete his Math U See for the year! He is excited.

Our summer months are always the most relaxed. I enjoy this type of schooling and after a long year of pushing hard I look forward to the relaxed learning.

This week Zachary had a little trouble with his math. He is having to borrow from the hundreds place and he kept getting really confused. At first I will admit I was upset with him thinking he just wasn't wanting to complete it but then I realized he needed more room to do them and asked him to use a different colored pencil than he had. I wrote some on the board for him in this manner and it worked perfectly. All week his math was done primarily on the board. I love adjusting to how my kids learn. He needed a different color to keep it all straight in his mind. Now in public school he wouldn't have got that........

Play time. This week we had a lot of play time. The kids never have tv during our days but normally go outside to play however since the weather has gotten so hot they only go out for a few minutes at a time.

We got a lot of strawberries this week from my grandmother and put them up in our freezer after cleaning and slicing them. We also are getting some small ones from our garden so we had yummy smoothies this week for the first time this year!

Hope your week was relaxing and blessed. Enjoy your weekend friends.

BiC Craft Your Space Challenge

April was craft month and sometimes I am a crafter and sometimes I am not! The month of April proved to be a very hard month so I am getting this review promotion post up late but I am thankful to the awesome people at BiC for being understanding with my tardiness!

Bic provided me with 2 wonderful packages of markers but not just any markers, COOL markers! These ultra fine and fine permanent markers are really awesome. My daughter got into the packages as soon as they arrived just doodling on cardstock! I must also add that the durable case they come in is a great storage case to keep them in too!

The challenge was to craft your space with organization with these markers and at first I was pretty stumped. I was thinking oh no what in the world can I do with them. I am a very organized person sometimes you wouldn't think so if you looked at my desk but at that time I prefer to say it is an organized mess!

Upon thinking and trying to come up with something to help me with an actual issue that we have within our home I thought up a great idea for all the cups my family goes through daily. I ran to the closest ReStore because they always have small tiles and this is what we did as a family to organize my kitchen cabinet and to help with all the cups all over the kitchen!

Now to re-cap just get some awesome BiC Ultra Fine & Fine permanent markers and some tiles that you like and decorate! Once the kids and I finished our tiles we let them dry for a day once they where dry I applied a coat of poly just so that the ink would for sure stay if the tiles got wet.

The tiles are now in their new home beside the microwave housing everyone's cups for the day! This has totally helped so far with our cup issue. With 5 people in our home it was difficult to keep up with this seemingly small issue but it resulted in a lot of washed cups!

Challenge Complete!

Weekly Wrap Up 39

Well this week was half school - half break! Thursday, Friday and Saturday was our state homeschool convention and as many of you know I was on the blogging team for the NCHE Convention this year.

We are in love with our new review items! Reviews coming soon on them!

So proud of Lexi because she has completed 2 math curriculum's this year and finished up her grammar!!

Zachary has almost finished up his baseball this year with only 2 more games to go! However Kyle's is just starting!!

Look isn't Rover getting big?

A little fun playing on these hot days at the splash pad! The water was cold but the sun was hot so it off set it pretty well!

Zachary didn't want to get cold so he decided to swing instead.

Now for the conference! The kiddos were suppose to attend with us however they had other plans because Zac had a game and didn't want to miss it. My grandparents and parents watched them for Kevin and I so we actually had some alone time! We enjoyed it greatly.

This was what I took with me to the conference! I have to say I loved the new journal I found at Wal-Mart of all the places! It was a Dayspring journal!!

 Alone time with my love.

He actually took notes and really enjoyed himself!

 Us again!

 That sticker makes me happy!

Listening to Andrew Pudewa was one of my favorite sessions to go to! I went to 3 of his while I was there. I love his personality and knowledge!

On the ride home my husband knows how to spoil me! Vanilla Milkshake which is my personal favorite of all time from the one and only ChicFilA.

Look what we found more of at the conference?? He loves these books! I posted about them here so check them out but since that post these are his new ones!

Have a great week and Happy Memorial Day.

Random Thoughts for my Children

As my children are growing I am having new issues arise in dealing with them. New parenting having to be taught and learned! Yesterday was a difficult day emotionally for me. I had a situation with one of my babies that let me know they thought I always took up for one and never for them.

It hurt my heart. I tried explaining the typical answer. The one is smaller and you have to act your age not their age, your going to be driving soon, your the closest to leaving the house and I have to prepare you for that you know the blah - blah - blah.

I had to leave for work and I was just really upset and didn't even want to talk about it because there had been other issues at the same time during the same situation and I was afraid I was really going to over react. I cried on my way but had to chill simply because I can't work like that.

On my ride home lastnight I got to thinking - trying to really put myself in their shoes - and I thought about these things:

I want to show you God's love through me so that you will want to be near God daily.

I wish your life to be filled with love, dreams and family to warm your heart.

Priceless friendships too.

I want you to have peace, peace and understanding my love.

Understand what is important in your life.

I want you to be happy and radiate that joy all around.

Experience gratitude and less attitude.

I want you to feel joy more than you know.

Learning  to control your tongue is something you will work on your entire life so start now.

I've always been told when they are little they walk on your toes and when they grow up they walk on your heart.

Proverbs 31 Woman

Just had this on my mind today and I have to say I know that I am not the only one! What a great reminder for us mothers and wives to have. As a homeschool mother I do dedicate myself to my family and I love them but I am striving to be Christ-like daily.

Happy Monday

Purex Crystals Dryer Sheets { GIVEAWAY }

Purex is a favorite company of mine. I can trust the products that I am paying for and I am always satisfied with the quality and quantity of the items too!

Being a homeschool mother on a tight budget introduced me to Purex and I have been in love with them since.

I have to say I wasn't sure if Purex Crystals Dryer Sheets would make me as happy as using the actual Crystals { I am kind of in love with them } but let me tell you a little about the new dryer sheets!

I totally didn't know that a small sheet could hold such an awesome smell, I must say if they could only invent smell-o-vision you guys would be in for a huge treat! I used the Fresh Spring Water sheets in my laundry for several weeks now and I have been very pleased with the lasting freshness and fragrance from the sheets.

They are so simple to use. Just wash your clothes and as your tossing them in the dryer, you just toss a sheet in and that is it! Your ready to go and it doesn't take a second to get a fresh smelling load of laundry!

I have noticed in my work clothes and Kevin's scrubs the sheets have reduced static and that it repels pet hair and lint. I have a black shirt for work and I can't tell you how aggravating it is to get out the lint brush because normally I am in a huge rush to dash out the door so this little sheet has saved me a lot of aggravation lately!

There are other ways to use these great smelling Purex Crystal Dryer Sheets!

Tuck one in a drawer, a hamper or even your closet! You will enjoy the scent! I have.

I haven't timed the days to see if 30 is the true number but I can tell you I have noticed it does last long and holds in my clothing.

Do you want a coupon for a free box of Purex Crystals Dryer Sheets?

Hurry and enter because the giveaway is only open until Monday midnight. I will draw 2 winners and you will get one coupon each. Only US residents. If you are the winner and do not respond to me within 24 hours I will draw another winner and your prize will be revoked.
