Where's Your Happy Place?

As I came back from a wonderful beach vacation I had to adjust to getting back into my normal. Then work and a conference. I realized I missed the beach so very much in getting back into my day to day!

It got me to thinking about my "Happy Place."

Where is your "Happy Place?"

I realized that not only is the beach my favorite place to go but I look forward to coming home so I guess that means I have two "Happy Places" or at least a close runner up.

Home & The Beach

It's okay because home should make me happy.

It should make you that way too!

I've joked many times I wouldn't have to chose to come home if we would just move to the beach.

Home makes me feel so many emotions: happy, safe, content and free.

Home is my safe place, the same as I have tried to make it for my children. I take great joy in making sure my family feels comfortable in their daily life. Since we homeschool our home provides much more to us than just our resting place after a long day, this is where we are all day!

Over the past 2 years we have been in our new home I have decorated more "beachy" because that's what makes me happy I encourage you to merge your home with your happy place too.

By decorating and leaning more towards a certain feel that compliments your personality it will in turn help you stay more positive and have better energy.

But I caution you - don't get so wrapped up in having your home look like a magazine that it takes away from your family!  As an OCD homeschool mother this has been one of my hardest things to overcome.

Remember you live in your home so make it doable for your family situation.

By incorporating the things you like most in life it will help your home be a real place of rest and relaxation.

My whole re-do on this table only took a day and only cost me $3.00 because I already had the other products I needed from previous projects.

I have a little beach in my living room, bathroom and bedroom. However I desperately need some in my kitchen but haven't been able to get to that one yet.

I want to leave you with this Bible verse:

Phillippians 4: 11-13

Not that I speak in respect of want for I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.

  1. I love the table!! I too love the beach! Glad you guys had a good trip! I really want to work on making our home feel more like me and less like it is suppose to look (if that makes sense).

  2. Love the table and the fact that it makes you happy is the best! We should surround ourselves with only things that make us happy. We miss the beach! Because of our location, it is a little too far to visit currently! ;)
