Caramel Apple Cake { RECIPE }

Alright just so we understand each other - I love apples during the fall while others love pumpkin.

Yes I am an apple lover.

Let me take you to my world with this delicious recipe.

Your going to need:
2 cups & 2 tbsp flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup buttermilk (if no buttermilk get regular milk and but a tbsp of vinegar in it and let it set for a few minutes)
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 & 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups apples
6 tbsp milk
3 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/8 cup caramel sauce

In a large bowl mix flour, sugar and cinnamon and set to the side.

In a sauce pan combine butter, water and shortening and boil.

Now add flour mixture then buttermilk, baking soda and then eggs.

Stir well and then add vanilla and apples.

Stir together well.

Pour into a 15x13 pan.

Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.

Now lets mix the frosting!

Mix
1/2 cup melted butter
6 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 & 1/2 cup powered sugar
1/8 cup caramel sauce

Once the cake is semi cooled you can pour the frosting over top and enjoy!

My daughter has made this cake without my help several times so please try it!

We enjoy it too often!

It is a family favorite.
