Easy Pallet Project - Flag

I found several pallet projects that I would love to try and this was one of them. I had a little time and wanted to show my USA spirit so I decided it was time.

I took an old pallet apart very carefully and laid the planks out the way I wanted.

Then I nailed them where I intended for them to stay with a small board behind all to keep them together.

Next I started painting.

I just used cheap craft paint that is on sale at A.C. Moore all the time.

Next came the stars, I simply printed a template of stars out on cardstock and used that to make stars.

I was very happy with the way it turned out.

It is in the front of my house.

I plan to make a Fall one very soon and I will share it with you as well!

Homemade Horse Treats

As updated a few weeks ago we now have a mini horse named Charlie. Alexis has been spoiling him pretty badly and along with that has come a lot of new pins from Pinterest on just exactly how to do that!

We took a few recipes and got an idea of what to do and came up with a version for what we had on hand.

1 Banana
1 Apple
1 c Molasses
3 c Oatmeal
2 tbsp oil (coconut oil is what we used)

We placed everything in the food processor and allowed it to do its thing.

We scooped out into a mini cupcake pan.

Cooked at 300 for 40 minutes.

They smelled really good and this batch made 30.

I was curious if our Charlie and his side kicks (our goats) would enjoy them and man oh man they LOVE them!

Huge score.

Super easy to make, cheap and healthy for them.

WIN WIN.

Field Trip - Zoo Atlanta 2016

My children have always enjoyed going to the zoo since they where little ones. Last year we decided to go to Atlanta's Zoo while passing through on a trip to Florida because we had never saw pandas.

We decided for our family it was cheaper to get the family yearly pass and that way we could come back and enjoy it once again for nearly the same price. The drive for us is about 4 hours.

Here are some pictures of our trip, We had a blast and loved looking at all of God's beautiful creation.

Lexi's favorite is the Red Panda, remember we went to New York and found out the Bronx zoo had one and went... What a story we have to tell on that one!

Picnic finished up our trip!

Week 44 Wrap Up

Alexis completed her Math a few weeks ago so she is completely finished with everything for our school year.  Zachary still has just a few lessons in Math and he will be completely finished as well. Kyle has been finished for weeks.

Everyone is enjoying some down time. They do have reading requirements but that is all at this point.

Kyle has been working a lot this summer and he loves that money.

Canning season is upon us as everything is producing in the garden.

Every girls dream is to own a horse... So after years of asking Alexis has a mini horse, his name is Charlie! He is 4 and is very sweet and loves attention.
Happy Birthday baby girl.

We have worked very hard on getting our flowers to grow for the last 4 years we have been in our home and I just have to say this year they have showed us they are there and doing well!

Hope you have a wonderful week.
